    If conundrums are symbolic, Bruce, in the sense that this fragment of yours could be assigned a symbol; I conjecture an assignation either of p for proton or whatever the symbol is for a lead nuclei "at an energy of 574 TeV (92.0 µJ) per nucleus (2.76 TeV per nucleon-pair)".

    as we used to say, in homage to high school higher-level maths classes.

    i no longer know what it meant. and suspect (no, KNOW) i never really did.

    my brain just doesn't work that way.

    but i can parse a phrase to within an instance of its' participle - whilst eating a burger, combing my hair {i never did; 'least not since '04}, turning a cartwheel, watching the news, and preparing dinner for four...

    you have me.
